Visceralisation is a special technique used by Up Learn to ensure you’re learning effectively, and in a creative way!

Step 1: Association - ask yourself, what does the word make you think of? What does it sound like? What does it rhyme with?

Step 2: Imagination - turn your associations into an image that captures the words in your mind.

Step 3: Visceralisation - tie your vivid image of the words, back to the definition.

Whilst this technique requires more effort, research has found it’s up to 9x more effective for information retention than rereading and rewriting information, meaning it leads to better long term results!

Whilst Visceralisations will not affect your score, they’re a great way to master more of your subject - you don’t need to be naturally creative to give these a go.
