Do I need to make notes?

No you don’t!

It’s really important you are making an effort to concentrate when you use Up Learn, i.e. you always do 100% your best to answer every question correctly and are paying attention to what is going on in the videos.

The system is designed to take you back to areas that you need more practice in, and it is more effective to do that than to read over notes.

That said, if you would feel more comfortable taking notes, that’s completely up to you! We would suggest you still watch the video in full, giving it your full attention and then when it’s finished, you can make a few notes on the key points. Studies have shown that this is significantly more effective than just copying notes down during the lessons.

Summary videos are a little different than our more detailed videos in that they cover off a lot of information into a few minutes. A good approach when watching these is to pause the video to make a note of topics you feel you need to brush up on, so your attention isn't split between the video and your page.
