When you’ve completed your lessons and want to challenge yourself, it’s time to start on our range of exam-level questions and practice papers 🖋️ These questions will help prepare you to answer exam questions like a pro and test out your understanding of the theory you’ve learnt.
What exam-level questions do you have available?
Depending on your course, you’ll have access to different exam-style questions - scroll through each of your course modules to see which of these you have! 🔍
Get an answer walk-through in Exam How-tos
Exam Questions (How-tos) start by getting you to answer an exam-style question. Then, you will mark your answer using the interactive mark scheme, which is followed by a detailed walkthrough of the model answer 📹 They tell you 'How-to' do the questions! You'll see how your answers would be marked, and be shown how to maximise your marks. They are intended to cover each main question type that comes up in the exam, using a specific question as an example 🔥
Cover the question framework in Exam Technique
These sections contain video lessons that go through advice and frameworks for approaching specific types of questions in the exam - how to structure a 25-marker, for example. The videos discuss exam techniques and strategies and are designed to be applicable to any question of this type 🏆
Do some quick-fire practice in Exam Questions
For courses like Chemistry and Maths, you want to be able to do lots of questions to practise. The Exam Questions tab at the top of the module page, next to the Exam Papers tab, has plenty of questions for each topic to allow you to test the knowledge you've built up, identify areas of weakness, and refine your skills 🌟
These Exam Questions do not count towards your Up Score 🙋♀️ Use them to get lots of practice in, but make sure you’re also completing Exam How-tos or Exam Technique videos to increase your Up Score! 🙌
Practise the theory in Biology’s Exam Practice Questions
You'll get straight into exam practice with topic-specific questions that are designed to reflect the format and challenge level of actual exams. It's set up to give you a real feel for the time pressure of exams, with suggested timings for each question ⏱️ These questions make up a large portion of the Biology course, with sets of questions for each topic, giving you plenty of opportunities to practise all those processes and terminologies you’ve learnt ✍️
Why should I complete the exam-level questions?
These sections contain questions that are designed to reflect the format and challenge level of actual exams. They also have detailed and helpful mark schemes, designed to help you understand the answer, as well as the marking process 🤓 Practising these will teach you everything you need to know to nail your answers in the exam! Not to mention completing these questions will boost your Up Score (except for questions from the Exam Questions tab) 🌟
How do I practise in an exam setting?
Each of our courses include practice exam papers that have been written by the official examiners for your exam board, exclusively for Up Learn 🤯 Find them under the ‘My progress’ section for each module:
The papers are designed to precisely mimic your actual exams, not just in the format but in the exact topics, difficulty levels and question styles that you'll actually have on exam day 🎯 We take into account what topics are likely to be asked by examiners writing the exams for this year, to give you the best possible preparation.
Each exam paper has a mark scheme with detailed explanations/model answers so that you can mark your own work ✏️ Learning exactly how an examiner thinks and what they're looking for is essential in helping you master your subject!
Exam papers are also really important for getting you to a high Up Score, so try one out when you get to 50-60% Up Score 💡
