What are Summaries and where can I access them?

Summaries summarise a given subsection. They provide a quick and concise overview of the content of that subsection. They cover the most important parts of a topic, summarizing it all in one easy video that is perfect for your revision.

You should watch these if you are already confident with the content and need a quick refresher.

They can be accessed from the module overview page or from the subsection overview page.

Do summaries count towards the Up Score?

Summaries DO NOT count towards the Up Score because other components of the course (exam questions, recall quizzes, practice papers) are a better indicator of your readiness for the exam.

You don’t need to watch the summaries to qualify for the money-back guarantee. They are there to assist with your revision but are not vital for mastery of the subject 👌

When should I watch the summaries?

Summaries won’t make much sense if you watch them before having mastered the relevant topic for it, so we would highly recommend moving from the summaries to the detailed lessons within the subsection before watching the summaries OR if the detailed lesson doesn’t exist (Biology), using exam questions, recall quizzes and resources outside Up Learn.

My green bars aren’t appearing for my summaries, what should I do?

That’s completely normal! Since summaries are not detailed videos, green bars won’t appear for ‘Summary only’ topics. There is a note at the top of the page explaining this.

What should I do if I watch the summaries but need to dig deeper into the topic?

If there are detailed videos available for a topic there will be a link to this below the summary video, so you can jump right into the detailed content!
