To drill down into students’ engagement with the course and how they’re progressing through it, use section completion and hours on the Students page ✍️
How can I track my students’ engagement week by week?
For each week, get a quick idea of how much work students have done using sections mastered and hours. Students are aiming to master one to two sections per subject per week, so you can understand if they’re working on what’s been assigned to them.
The section will show up in a student's weekly sections mastered the first time they reach green on the assignment. So if their score drops due to decay and they get it back to green, this won't contribute to their weekly sections mastered 💡

How do I track students’ overall progress through the course?
To understand how students are progressing through the course as a whole, use their average course mastery and average decay scores, along with their total hours 💡
Average course mastery shows how well your students are performing and grasping content across the course. We take a student’s scores for all the sections they have completed and divide them by the total number of sections in the course. This percentage then helps you understand their overall performance.
Average decay indicates how much their course scores have decreased due to memory decay. Students should be aiming to keep this at 0-5% by doing regular Refresh Knowledge sessions ⏳
Total hours sums up their hours from every week to show you how much effort students have put into Up Learn overall 📅
How can I filter the dashboard?
🙋 To see a single student’s hours and section completion, use the Search bar just above the leaderboard to find their name.
🏫 To narrow your view, you can filter by year and subject, or by class. The leaderboard will then only show hours and section completion for that course/subject.
Tip: filter the dashboard before downloading the data to see students’ engagement for a specific subject!
