A Data Manager plays a key role in helping your school get the most out of Up Learn by making sure that student data is accurate, up-to-date, and securely managed on our platform.

They work closely with the Up Learn Champion, teachers, and sometimes your school’s IT team to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes 👩‍💻

What does a Data Manager do?

Keep student and teacher data up to date

Whether using Wonde or CSV, the Data Manager is responsible for making sure that student records are current and accurate.

This includes:

🧑‍🎓 Adding new students and removing leavers

🏷️ Ensuring students are in the correct classes and year groups

📬 Keeping student email addresses accurate

For Wonde schools, this means making changes directly in your school’s MIS — these will automatically sync to Up Learn.

For CSV schools, changes are made manually through the Settings page in your school dashboard.

Set up and maintain your data connection

The Data Manager is also responsible for making sure the school’s connection to Up Learn is working as it should.

🔄 Wonde schools: Make sure the correct data fields (e.g. classes, emails) are shared and permissions are enabled. Work with Wonde or Up Learn to resolve any data issues, and let Wonde know about any MIS migrations.

📂 CSV schools: Update details in the dashboard when students join, leave, or change classes or subjects

Why is the Data Manager role important?

By keeping student data clean and accurate, the Data Manager ensures:

✅ Students can access the right courses

📊 Teachers can track their students

🚀 School leaders see clear, accurate progress and usage data

Whether your school uses Wonde or CSV, the Data Manager is essential in making Up Learn work effectively for everyone 🤝
