If you're using Up Learn through your school, your teacher will set you assignments to complete. These are designed to help you stay on track for top grades! Use the rings and percentages to track your progress, and aim for green in every section 💪

Start by completing assignments to 80% using Strengthening, then keep them green using Refresh Knowledge 🚀

What do the rings on my assignments mean?

Each section of your course has a ring showing how accurate your answers have been:

🔴 Red = Less than 50% correct

🟡 Amber = 50–79% correct

🟢 Green = 80%+ correct

Getting to green means you have understood the content in that section. The goal? Go for green in every section! ✅

How do I complete assignments?

When you’ve been set an assignment, your goal is to get the section to 80% or green to show you’ve understood the content.

Here’s how:

🏃 Attempt the section quiz to skip the content you already know

🎥 Watch the videos and attempt answering the questions

🛠️ Use Strengthen to fix anything to get to green

Once you’ve completed the assignment, keep your scores green across your sections by doing regular Refresh Knowledge quizzes.

Your assignment will only show as complete when you’ve reached 80% and the section is green 💡

Strengthen to green

You only need to get each question right once for it to count towards your score, but if you’ve made mistakes, you’ll need to go back and correct them to hit green 🟢

That’s where the Strengthen button comes in! It brings back questions you've got wrong so you can fix them and boost your accuracy 💪

Once you've turned a section green, you're back on track and mastering that topic 🙌

We'll notify you there's nothing left to Strengthen once you have:

✅ Completed all available activities

✅ Correctly answered all questions at least once

If your score still isn't green and there's nothing left to Strengthen, you need to do some Refresh Knowledge to counteract memory decay on that section 💡

NOTE: When doing Refresh Knowledge, you'll need to answer a question on a particular section to reset decay on that section. So keep going until you reach that question! 🏃

How can I tackle memory decay?

When you don’t revisit a topic for a while, your brain starts to forget - that’s called memory decay. It kicks in 7 days after you finish a section, and your score will slowly drop over time if you don’t practice.

But here’s the good news:

✨ Decay slows down the more consistently you get things right

🔁 You can reverse it by using Refresh Knowledge

Refresh Knowledge pulls questions from sections you completed a little while ago to help:

🧠 Lock in your memory with spaced practice

✅ Keep green sections green

💪 Increase weaker section scores

You’ll receive a notification in your Assignments list when it’s time to do some Refresh Knowledge, but you can also do a couple questions whenever you like to keep that decay down and your section scores up!

You can read more about beating memory decay here 🏋️

Can my teacher see how many questions I need to do in Refresh Knowledge?

Your teachers can’t see the exact number of questions you have available, but they can see how much your score has dropped over time due to memory decay 📉

If there’s a big drop, it’s a good hint to them that you’ve got plenty of questions waiting for review!
